When it comes to having enough seats for your guests, there is always a panic. No one wants to get out the old fold up chairs that are only used a few times a year, and yet, no one can find enough space in their living room to have permanent extra seating ideas. Believe it or not, there actually are ways you can have extra seating in your home without having to squeeze through awkward spaces that are taking up the whole space.

Having an armchair in your space is a great way to provide some extra seating for your guests. Not only do these look awesome, as they can add texture and something different to your space, but they also act as a great extra seating!

Ottoman’s are a great way to provide extra seating to your space, and can act as a coffee table too! Opting for a long rectangular ottoman provides tons of extra seating for guests, and when it isn’t being used for that, it can act as a coffee table, a foot rest or anything else you like!

Putting a bench along your wall is another great way to make extra seating and extra storage! If your home is small, this is a great idea! Flipping a bookshelf on it’s side and covering with padding and cushions is an easy makeshift and temporary way to save money on building a bench that provides seating and storage.

Short stools are another great option for extra seating. Not only can these be used for decoration the rest of the time, but they can also be used as personal coffee tables!

Giant cushions are a great, cost-effective way to create extra seating. These cushions can be used as display cushions as well or they can be stored under a dining table, for example, where they don’t take up any used space.
