What’s happening in the world of styling trends is always a hot topic. I was lucky enough to sit down with Jen Bishop from Australia’s leading interiors blog, Interiors Addict, to hear exactly what is hot and what is not in outdoor spaces for 2018.

Key Points:

• A lot more colour is being used in outdoor spaces, such as white and grey, as opposed to in previous years where timber and brown have been most prominent.
• Smart technology is being introduced into outdoor spaces, this ranges from heating and lighting that can be controlled via an app to outdoor speakers, kitchens and built-in barbecues.
• Fire pits continue to rise in popularity.
• Outdoor spaces are transforming into functional and liveable spaces – less of large lawn taking up majority of the space. Fire pit and living areas are breaking up the yard into different destinations in the space.
