Hi guys! It’s Naomi Findlay here, your Rapid Renovation Expert.
Even for a seasoned renovator the range of nails and screws available on the market for hanging artwork can be overwhelming. I was lucky enough to sit down with, actor and chippy, Rowan Howard to break down how to choose the right fixing for your job.
Don’t have time to watch? Listen to it on the go here!
Key Points:
- Stainless steel nails and screws are your best for outdoor jobs where they are exposed to any harsh elements such as salt and water, which could result in corrosion or oxidisation.
- Hot dip galvanised fixings, which are base metals such as steel coated in zinc, are best for outdoor jobs that are not in a marine environment.
- Climacoat products are specific for treated pine.
- Solid brass fixings should be used internally only.
