Styling with Clay Beaded Garlands

Always loved the look of beaded garland in your instagram feed but had no idea how or when to use them? Or even why? Well I am here to help!

What is  a beaded garland?

A beaded  Garland is generally speaking a string of beads with a whoop clay walls tile or even metal that is strung together. Generally speaking at the moment you will see beautiful timber and hand rolled clay beaded garlands adorning the pages of Instagram

They can come in all different shapes and sizes either in straight lengths of beads, circular hoops of beads, with tassels, without tassels, short strings, super long strings, giant beads, tiny beads, on ribbon, on rope, on leather…..

….. the options and the final look is limitless.

Why use them?

I love using them to style with I find the organic and round shapes and the way that they delicately and randomly fall and drape over objects provide such softness and such a great connection with nature, especially when made with natural elements.  They instantly add warmth and depth and interest to any space. It is a simple and instant way to inject charm into what might seem a cooler or hard space.

It goes without saying that when we create with our hands and then we bring that into our spaces or the spaces of people we gift them to there is the woven story of creation that gives a sense of connection with our surrounds.

How and where to use them!

There are so many different places that you can use be the garlands , around the nape of a lamp or just draped over the side of a basket,  woven into a large plants,  on a stack of books, hanging from hooks on the walls or over the edge of a piece of art,  from a doorknob, on your key ring the list goes on and on and he’s really endless.

Can you make them yourself?

YESSSS you can!!!

There are a few boutique always stores and locations online that you can purchase clay beaded garlands, however for me there is something beautiful and rewarding about creating your own.

The best part is even if you are not crafty or you don’t consider yourself creative it is such a simple project to start with. And of course there is the added bonus of making a beaded garland being a fraction of the cost of purchasing one.

It’s a great way to return too simple to return to creative and be able to use that in your home to create a beautiful space, or even better to gift on somebody special.
