How to nail the look of your dream home with Scyon!
Are you struggling to decide on the materials for your home renovation? Maybe you’ve chosen your colour palette and decided on the floor plan, but what about the products you’ll be using on the exterior of your new home? This is one of the most important decisions you need to make when building or renovating a property yet it’s also one that many renovators struggle to find answers to!
In today’s blog, I am going to share with you my fantastic experience with Scyon Walls and how to find the right wall cladding, panelling and sheets material for your home. Choosing the right product can do more than just provide skin for the building. It can control sound, be fire-resistant, provide shade and shape your entire building with the facade options…so let’s get into it!
Whether you want a classic, coastal style or a modern, edgy facade, considering your home’s immediate environment is key to choosing the design and materials best suited to its setting.
FACT: Did you know that condensation within the wall structure creates ideal conditions for rot and mould growth? This can lead to substantial structural damage and health issues.
To avoid running into these types of problems, make sure you always do your research before committing to a product. I love the Scyon Walls™ fibre cement cladding because it’s low maintenance and resistant to rotting, bushfire damage, impact, moisture damage and termite damage when installed and maintained correctly.
Let’s face it – Australia’s weather can be a little crazy and we need to account for that when we build our homes. The products from Scyon Walls are made from a low-density mix of sand (locally sourced), portland cement and cellulose (wood pulp) along with some trade secret ceramic density modifiers specifically designed to withstand the harsh Australian climate.
But don’t forget about the indoors either! In my latest reno project, I actually used Scyon Walls for my new bathroom walls. Scyon was the perfect choice for this home bathroom due to its clean, crisp lines and moisture resistant properties.
Whatever look you’re after for the exterior of your home, whether it’s the on-trend Hamptons design or eye-catching geometric patterns or something in the middle or completely different – you can find it at Scyon Walls and make it your own.
Their design-your-own look tool will make it easy to put together, save and share what your dream home looks like.

So you can use fibre cement cladding in bathrooms?
We are about to start building and I’m thinking of using it as a feature VJ in the living room wall and was going to use it in bathrooms
Can I use the same product as the exterior
Naomi Findlay says
Depending on what you are using internally really. You can get external version of the “VJ cladding” you are referring to for sure. Check out James Hardie external product range.
