The reason that I first started to work with Gerflor is the vinyl products you produce for residential use because they are outstanding!
As most of our listener knows, as a mother with four children, one of the reasons for me to started initially to look at the range you produce is:
Demystify the vinyl flooring rangers
Vinyl isn’t the old ugly lino that we had in the 60s. People would hear me talking a lot, especially in Carrington house, where I used commercial Gerflor flooring. In my most recent project renovating Waukivory Estate, I’ve used one of your flooring in the bathroom.
What is LVT flooring?
LVT stands for luxury vinyl tile. You also heard about LVP, which stands for luxury vinyl plank. It is a product that looks like real wood and makes from vinyl to provide more practical benefits, and it is more feasible.
Before you choose a vinyl product…
Many people would be choosing to build the floor by themselves to try to save some money. If you’re going to use the vinyl product, the crucial thing is you need to flag that with your builder earlier, and they can provide for your that smooth level finish, which will be a little bit different if you’re covering with the different surfaces. You can do a lot of the prep work in the laying slab. It means that you need to prepare enough to know what type of flooring you’re going to putting down and communicate that with plenty of notice to the building company. The preparation will be more important with the glue-on product.
What scratch and dent resistance vinyl has?
We need to clear that it is the old vinyl, and the new one is different. The new vinyl uses a new treatment that is easier to maintain the floor and better for the family, and easy to clean.
What is the best way to cleaning the vinyl floor?
There are so many guidelines to teach you to clean the floating floors, that old timba floor like you couldn’t use too much water couldn’t use any heats.
Compared to those timba floors that you can’t contact water, the best way to clean vinyl floors is easiest. Wipe and mop it. The polyurethane surface treatment makes the product very easy to maintain.
What is the environmental impact mainly in the manufacturing does it have?
Gerflor is very proud to be an eco-friendly company. All Gerflor manufacturing sites are certified by ISO 14001. In addition, Gerflor uses recycling products for all their products.
Little note to leave here…

And very soon, you will be able to do the same, maybe even now!
And also, click on to my
renovating Waukivory Estate, I would love you to get an opportunity to see these products in the news!
I find there is a little bit of resistance in the Australian in the general residential community to using the vinyl product, and I’ve got it! My man had a lino floor, and it’s super thin with ten layers of newspaper under it. I am going to say that loud, after using the vinyl one, I am going to struggle to ever go back to using real timba on floors purely because:
And I run all the workshops with these floors that will go into Airbnb or on a farm. So serviceability is essential as well.
Please go online and have a look. Be open to the technology that is coming forward. As We don’t resist technology when it comes to so many other things, so let’s not oppose the advancement and technology when it comes to our floors!
